Since a lot of members have been asking me how to do this when signing up here at Guildwork, I decided to make a quick guide that explains the process.

What Guildwork essentially is is a Facebook equivalent for gamers. Since it is based around gamers, new users create both their personal accounts – which are intended for the real people who play the games – as well as their character accounts – which are intended for the characters they play as.

That said, registering with Guildwork automatically creates your personal account, known as your "Username". This is separate from your "Character". It's easy to do and is essentially the same as registering with any forum or website. Give your email, create a username and password, verify by going to your email, etc.

To create your Character, you must have a Username on Guildwork first. Once that is complete, you can use this guide to setup your character.

######Step One

When you are logged into your account and on your main page, click on the "Characters" tab on the left.

######Step Two

On the "Characters" tab, fill in the obvious until you get to where it says "LSC url". If you know what this is, great. If you don't I'll fill you in.


"LSC url" stands for Linkshell Community url and denotes the link one will need from their Linkshell Community Profile on SE's official website. This official website is 100% secure and is where both Guildwork and another website called FFXIAH.com pull your character information from. Doing so is completely safe and legal as the only way it can be pulled is if you yourself set your information to be "Public" in SE's official site.

Why does it need to pull your character information? Answer: It pulls your character information because Guildwork is trying to ensure that the character you're creating actually exists.

In the following guide screenshots, I ran through the steps that would need to be taken if one already has an FFXIAH.com profile setup. If one does not, I will make a continuation later showing how to retrieve the information from SE's LS Community Website.

######Step Three

Copy the LSC url from your profile.


######Step Four

Paste the url in the blank and hit "Add Character".

You should now see your character above with an "Unverified" label in red next to it.


To verify your character, you will need to follow the instructions Guildwork has provided by clicking the "?" that is next to the label.

That's it! Now that you have your character created, you can go to the bottom of the page and "Browse" other users, guilds, and characters. To receive access to a guild go to the "Browse" column, select "Guilds", search for the Linkshell you want to get access to, and when the search results come up click "Request Access".
